Weekend Brunch
This is my routine weekend brunch. I usually eat this around noon. It takes about ten minutes to make. Everything is done by the time it takes you to toast the bread!
Step 1: Toast the bread.
I use this jalapeno cheddar bread I find at Jewel Osco.
I also use a toast oven on medium then once that dings I flip them and put on low.
Step 2: Warm the pan.
I put a pat of butter over medium heat until it melts.
Then I add the egg and turn the heat down a bit.
I let the egg cook until the egg white edges start to sizzle and be cooked. I flip the egg over easy and turn the heat off but let the egg continue to cook over the hot stove top. Sprinkle some pepper on that egg.
Step 3: Hummus the toast.
I love Sabra Lemon Twist Hummus! Spread this over the toast.
Add the egg over a piece of toast and some Sriracha for spice.
Some fresh fruit on the side make a nice palette cleanser when the Sriracha heat hits.
I always drink my coffee separate from eating in the morning. So before and after this egg meal I drink my coffee, Always seasonal creamer.
